Your laptop/desktop will run the assessment software and your smart phone or tablet will be used to record you and the assessment.
Good Things Foundation have released their final report on the Future Proof project we took part in over the past year. Read it here. The project helped over 900 people to build their confidence, digital skills and resilience, with some even securing employment.
The report features a case study on Learn for Life along with photos from our session at Broomhall Centre.
Hayley will also be speaking at the “Shocks, knocks and skill building blocks: creating resilient workers” event on 24th February. You can book onto the event here.
Thank you so much to each and every person who has donated to our Crowdfunder. We have raised £2180 in total. It’s wonderful that so many people care about our students and understand the importance of digital inclusion. Your donation will make a real difference to the lives of asylum seekers and refugees in Sheffield – thank you!!!
We are now running digital skills and computer classes at Broomhall Centre (a short 10-15 minute walk from Learn for Life) where they have a big open hall. If you would like to join, or know someone who would benefit, please enrol by clicking here.
These phones have come from the #EveryoneConnected scheme, thanks Google, Good Things Foundation and the National Lottery Community Fund for donating them. The devices have gone to people whose quality of life has suffered during Covid-19 through lack of access to digital tech & skills training.
This year has been very different due to covid-19 so we have been celebrating #FootballPeople online through zoom and socially distanced outside. Here are some of our thoughts about what makes football great. Thank you Farenet for supporting us during #FootballPeople.
“Football is the only language that the whole world understands. It is the language of communication that unites all creatures and nationalities in one cooperative team dominated by love and respect.” – Fabien and Fahad
“Even if you don’t know how to play football, you know how to kick the ball and it’s good exercise.” – Dennisse
“Football is life because when I play I forget everything, everything sad, I focus on the ball” – Saman
“I enjoy football because it unites people and brings friendship with different people from different countries” – David
We had a great afternoon of socially included (distanced) football fun for #FootballPeople weeks – It was so nice to bring some of our footballers together, to see lots of smiles and laughter! Thank you Farenet for supporting us during #FootballPeople.
