Sheffield University Talk

Today Louise and student ambassador, Luke, from The Department for Lifelong Learning, University of Sheffield came to talk to our Level 1 and 2 Functional Skills classes about progressing onto University and the options available. It was really useful, helpful and informative! We are looking forward to our University tour very soon.

Welcome to Sheffield Little Amal

We had the honour of welcoming Little Amal to Sheffield as part of The Walk. It was wonderful to see so many people coming to meet her as she continues her journey from Syria to Manchester to be reunited with her mother. Amal had a proper Sheffield welcome! Treasure hunt

Today we went on a treasure hunt, had a walk through the woods, discovered an outdoor gym and the sun came out!

Sheffield University Tour

Today we were invited by The Department for Lifelong Learning, University of Sheffield to have a tour of the The University of Sheffield. We were the first group to be allowed back in post-covid so we are very honoured! Thank you to Louise and Willy for showing us around. Here are some of the group exploring the campus:

General Cemetery Quizzing

We’re going on a bear hunt

Yesterday we went on a bear hunt in Sheffield city centre. Over the summer “The Bears of Sheffield” have taken over the city to help raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. There are 100 big bears and 60 little bears to find which have been decorated by different artists. You can see a map of the bears and learn more about them on the bears of Sheffield website here.

Crookes Valley Park Trip

We had a sunny afternoon at Crookes Valley Park learning more about Sheffield. We enjoyed seeing the lake and making new friends!
