WYSA

World Young Stars Association

WYSA is a group made up of refugees and local residents from Sheffield. The group was set up to empower and facilitate active integration of refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable people in Sheffield. The group aims to empower individuals, educate and give them a sense of belonging. The aim of the group is to promote community cohesion, social inclusion, full equality and provide a safe place of sanctuary and friendship. We want to break down barriers faced by isolated communities, different faiths, ages, abilities and ethnic minorities to promote full integration dispelling unfounded prejudices to provide a harmonious community. The group plan activities for the community to take part in celebrating community cohesion and life in the UK.

WYSA has been running informal learning and fun activities at Learn for Life. This has included a visit to Yorkshire Wildlife park, Awareness sessions, walks, games, art, IT and sports.
